Yarning Circle - Connecting LGBTQ Mob Online

ACON is inviting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQ people to join a series of sessions that will look at ways to care for your social and emotional wellbeing.

Let’s start a conversation and explore ways we can support one another as a community.

Your host for the sessions is ACON's Aboriginal Project Coordinator Jane Strang, a proud queer Mununjali, Yugambeh and Dunghutti woman.

Jane will be joined by the incredible Susan Moylan-Coomb from the Gaimaragal Group. Susan’s ancestry is Woolwonga and Gurindji from the Northern Territory.

Susan is part of the Stolen Generations and has lived experiences of the trauma associated with removal, loss, dispossession and disconnection.

Susan has extensive experience working with First Nations communities both nationally and internationally and has specific expertise in supporting First Nations Australians in areas such as wellbeing, self-care, resilience and confidence.

Let’s get together, to connect as a community, share our experiences and yarn in a safe space.

The sessions will be held online via zoom, with each session running for approx. 90 mins. Sessions will be capped at 20 participants to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to share with the group.
