If you like a bit of hilariously ballsy fun, then Bingay is the night out for you.
A Sydney institution, Bingay is gay bingo which means there’s classic disco tunes, weird rules and penalties, outrageous antics, hilarious repartee, deliciously lewd bingo calls, and prizes that range from the silly and camp to great theatre tickets and restaurant vouchers.
Bingay hostess Charisma Belle oversees the madcap proceedings and Bingay’s long time barrel babe Naomi Palmer spin the balls and sings up a storm.
Bingay takes over the upstairs bar of The Shift in Darlinghurst on the third Thursday of every month, with each monthly event having a fabulously flamboyant theme.
Bingay’s balls first dropped in 1999, making it one of Sydney’s longest running LGBTI community events. Bingay is also a fundraiser for ACON, NSW’s leading HIV and LGBTI health organisation.
So whether you’re a regular or a novice, or a local or visitor to Sydney, if you’re up for a wonderfully camp mid-week entertainment experience, then you can’t go wrong with Bingay. Retro disco bingo in Darlo – what’s not to love!
Sadly, heavy rain caused some flooding upstairs at The Shift and we had to cancel our sold out inaugural monthly Bingay :(
But the problem is getting fixed and so we’re hitting the replay button for our June Winter Wonderland edition which will now be held on Thursday 25 June (same time and same place).
Because seating is limited, we have to wait to hear back from our existing ticket holders to see how many they would like to keep before releasing tickets for general sale.
So if you missed out, you have another chance to get tickets from 12pm on Monday 22 June.
It will be a winter wonderland extravaganza – think Frozen meets Mardi Gras! There’ll be snow stopping the fun with camp wintery decorations, cool outfits and special frosty treats.
BOOK after 12pm on Monday 22 June for some hilarious snow-ballsy fun!
LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE!
And remember, players at the June and July editions of Bingay will be in the running to win a holiday in the Aussie Alps, courtesy of the generous folk at Frosty Fruits Ski Trip, Australia’s highest gay and lesbian ski event.
