Bondi Badlands – A Historical Violence Walking Tour

Participants wanted to attend a Pilot walk on Saturday 24 March  4.00pm – 5.30pm


Description of Walk:
ACON is piloting a history walk along Marks Park, Bondi, to provide an engaging and informative account of historical violence experienced by gay men in NSW in the 1980’s and 1990’s.
The walk is being delivered by Greg Callaghan, who wrote the true crime novel Bondi Badlands which provides a detailed insight into the lives of four men who went missing or were found dead at Marks Park.
Through the walk you will learn about the lives of these men and others as well as local and LGBT history that will shed light on the circumstances that gave rise to the wave of homophobia at this time.


Commitment Required:
At the end of the walk there will be a feedback session and an evaluation form to complete.  You will be asked to provide feedback on content, format, marketing and other aspects that will assist us develop the walk as an ongoing project, to raise awareness of historical violence and the impact of hompohobia.
