CELEBRATING LGBTQ+ WOMEN
An evening with ACON for International Women’s Day

Produced by ACON with support from Women NSW, Celebrating LGBTQ+ Women will feature live music, performances and creative engagements led by a diverse array of artists from our communities. The event will provide an opportunity for LGBTQ+ women and allies to gather in a dynamic social space, access health and wellbeing resources, and officially launch Word on the Sheets, ACON’s groundbreaking new sexual health website created by and for LGBTQ+ women.
The entertainment line-up includes performances from singer/songwriter June Jones, South Asian fusion dance company Bindi Bosses and burlesque artist Demon Derriere; tunes with DJ Gemma, a Wiradjuri Wave weaving with Peta-Joy Williams, and visual artwork by Aretha Brown. It will be hosted by TV presenter, producer, writer and actor Faustina “Fuzzy” Agolley.

The Sculpture Terrace at the MCA is accessible by lift. There is one, all genders accessible toilet on the same level. -
Auslan interpretation will be provided across the event. - Sensory information: The venue includes open indoor/outdoor spaces.
- There will be amplified sound with speeches, live music, dance performances and a DJ.
- The outdoor area will have decorative, ambient and stage lighting, but some areas may be dimly lit.
- One external wall will have a projected artwork.
- There may be flash photography.
- Seating: There will be a range of seating options including benches, chairs (no armrests), and lounges.
- Toilets: All toilets will be designated for all-genders with signage about internal features.
- Dietary options: Canapes will include some vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and dairy free options.
- Water will be provided. Other drinks available from cash bar.
