ACON Community Partnership Grants Guidelines

Our community grants are highly competitive, so please read these guidelines before applying.

 Groups who have previously been funded by ACON for 12 months

 Groups who have previously been funded by ACON for more than 12 months

 Groups who have previously been funded by ACON for more than 24 months

Category A $500 (New partnership)

Groups in this category are encouraged to promote their partnership with ACON by:

  • Where applicable, using the ACON logo on promotional materials (such as digital promotional materials, posters, flyers, etc) and including the ACON logo on their group’s website.
  • Sharing (when appropriate) ACON and Ending HIV campaigns through their social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter), website or mailing list. This may also include, when appropriate, campaigns and materials from other ACON channels, such as the Aboriginal Project ACON and ACON Here for Women.

Category B $1000 (Groups previously funded by ACON for 12 months)

Groups in this category are encouraged to promote their partnership with ACON by:

  • Where agreed upon, display the ACON logo on promotional materials (such as team uniforms, posters, flyers, etc) and including the ACON logo on their group’s website.
  • Where agreed upon, sharing ACON and Ending HIV campaigns through their social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter), website or mailing list. This may also include, when appropriate, campaigns and materials from other ACON channels, such as the Aboriginal Project ACON and ACON Here for Women.
  • Helping to promote call outs for volunteers to assist with ACON’s fundraising events, such as the World AIDS Day Red Ribbon appeal, Vivid Sydney and the Honour Awards.
  • Helping to promote and encouraging members and networks to attend ACON’s community engagement events.

Category C $1500 (Groups previously funded by ACON for more than 12 months)

Groups in this category agree to support ACON in the following ways:

  • Where agreed upon, display the ACON logo on promotional materials (such as team uniforms, posters, flyers, etc) and including the ACON logo on their group’s website.
  • Where agreed upon, sharing ACON and Ending HIV campaigns through their social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter), website or mailing list. This may also include campaigns and materials from other ACON channels, such as the Aboriginal Project ACON and ACON Here for Women.
  • Helping to promote call outs for volunteers to assist with ACON’s fundraising events, such as the World AIDS Day Red Ribbon appeal, Vivid Sydney, and the Honour Awards.
  • Helping to promote and encouraging members and networks to attend ACON’s community engagement events.
  • Where appropriate, recognising and promoting Diversity Days and days of significance. Promotion can be done through social media posts, photos and/or videos. Diversity Days information can be found here.
  • Sporting groups that apply for this category are strongly encouraged to participate in the Community Club Pride in Sport Index (prideinsport.com.au/psi)

Category D $2000 (Groups that have had an existing relationship with ACON for more than 24 months and will hold their own specific community event featuring ACON/health issues*)

Groups in this category agree to support ACON in the following ways:

  • Display the ACON logo on promotional materials (such as team uniforms, posters, flyers, etc) and including the ACON logo on their group’s website.
  • Sharing ACON and Ending HIV campaigns through their social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter), website or mailing list. This may also include, campaigns and materials from other ACON channels, such as the Aboriginal Project ACON and ACON Here for Women.
  • Helping to promote call outs for volunteers to assist with ACON’s fundraising events, such as the World AIDS Day Red Ribbon appeal, Vivid Sydney and the Honour Awards.
  • Helping to promote and encouraging members and networks to attend ACON’s community engagement events.
  • Liaise with ACON in the development and lead up to the community event, how ACON and health information will be profiled.
  • Where appropriate, recognising and promoting Diversity Days and days of significance. Promotion can be done through social media posts, photos and/or videos. Diversity Days information can be found here.
  • Sporting groups that apply in this category are strongly encouraged to participate in the Community Club Pride in Sport Index (prideinsport.com.au/psi)

*Organising their own community engagement events, with the support of ACON, either face-to-face (where safety standards can be upheld) or online. ACON will provide health resources (pamphlets, posters, safe sex packs) where appropriate. ACON can also provide a speaker on the day, virtually or in person, with talking points applicable to the group and/or the event.
